Shampoo & Conditioners have been around for generations but over the last decade or so, more and more consumers are more aware & cautious of what they apply to their body & hair while looking for ingredients that they know will help resolve their concerns. Keratin is a protein that our hair, skin & nails naturally produce to keep healthy & strong. For consumers who have dry, frizzy hair, keratin is an ingredient that look to have in their hair care routine. According to ELLE (Hall & Freund, 2022), here are the 16 best shampoos with keratin:

My Final Thoughts
For the past year, I have begun coloring my hair including a few months ago I actually started bleaching it. Overall, my hair is healthy considering but since I’ve started bleaching my hair, I have been focusing more on trying to find shampoo & conditioner that can help me maintain my hair’s health. I really enjoy the way my hair color is & want to continue this style and I know in order to do so for the health of hair in the long run is to have a shampoo & conditioner that is more than just “color friendly” like what I’ve been typically using this past year.
When I saw that Avon was launching the CHI® Essentials Revive Keratin & Bonding collection, I was very excited. I thought this was the answer to my prayers and best of all, being an Independent Sales Representative, I am able to purchase them at a discounted rate.

Now I went into using the Revive Keratin + Bonding Shampoo & Conditioner with confidence based on my past experience with other CHI® hair care products. So confident, this was scheduled to be posted for my August review days after it’s originally launched. I never came across a CHI® product that I didn’t like. Honestly their Cream Gel and Enviro 54 Hair Spray are actually staples in my hair styling routine and I also liked the CHI® Essentials Replenishing Shampoo & CHI® Essentials Moisturizing Conditioner.
Learn more about my experience & thoughts on CHI® Essentials Replenishing Shampoo & Moisturizing Conditioner in my product review.
At first, I was liking what I was experiencing after using the Keratin + Bonding Shampoo & Conditioner. My hair felt softer & lighter, which being someone who has very thick hair, that was welcoming in the heat we’ve had this summer. After about a week and half using it, (about 3 washes), I noticed that my dry scalp was no longer an issue. I noticed since I started bleaching my hair, my dry scalp has returned so I was really happy to have resolved this. I will not use Head & Shoulders, even though I know it will instantly work for me all because of the scent of it… I HATE IT!
After that, things began to go down hill and they went down hill fast! The following week, I first noticed that my wavy hair was not holding onto it’s waves like it use to, with or without the styling products I know that work. After that I noticed that my hair became frizzier than ever. Like I looked like a big poof ball after brushing my hair, especially day after using a heat styling product. Anytime I use heat styling products, especially a straightener, I will first apply heat protectant & then when I am finished, I will apply a serum all over. The next I will brush it for the day & it would end up “poofing” out.
The straw that broke the camels back for me with these products is after my scalp was hurting all day without cause. I had brushed my hair & put it up in a ponytail that morning as I do almost everyday. I don’t tie my hair back tightly so not to rip the hair out of my roots so I know it wasn’t that. When I got home, I still took my hair down and it was still hurting by the time I took a shower before bed. So at that time, I decided to go back to my old shampoo & conditioner to see what that would do. I immediately noticed a difference with my hair and the next day after air drying it, my hair held it’s waves like it use to & my scalp wasn’t hurting anymore.
Now I could have went in more depth by trying them out individually and see if it’s both or just one that is causing all these issues. I chose not to because I always use shampoo & conditioner from same set. Companies create shampoo & conditioners to work together.
I go into my product reviews understanding that though it may not be my preference, I will keep in mind those who may enjoy it. As I say in my Youtube videos all the time, what may work for me, may not work for you & vice versa. Even with all this in mind, I CAN NOT in good conscience recommend this to ANY ONE.
