Alternatives

Avon has a wide variety of skincare treatments designed to help you focus on your desired skincare concern. There are two other exfoliants with hydroxy acid ingredients, Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Extra Strength Retexturizing Peel and Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid.

Exfoliating your skin is a great way to remove dead skin cells & built up dirt in your pores. Though this is a great step to have in your skincare routine, this is the one step that I caution my customers because if done wrong or too much, you can cause irritation, swelling and damage your skin’s barrier, which is designed to help protect your skin & maintain moisture. When done correctly, using a chemical exfoliants can improve skin’s texture & tone, minimize fine lines & wrinkles, minimize pores, improve sun damage or hyperpigmentation and more.According to Derm Review (2021), here are the best chemical exfoliants:

  • Carrot & Stick The Exfoliating Peel
  • Carrot & Stick The Brightening Pads
  • REN Ready, Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic
  • Mizon AHA 8% Peeling Serum
  • Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
  • Glytone Rejuvenating Mini Peel
  • Pixi Glow Tonic
  • Dr Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel
  • Natrium Mandelic Topical Acid 12%
  • SkinCeuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight

Over the last few years, more & more people have started going to professionals to have chemical peels and microdermabrasion which are designed to rejuvenate skin.

My Pros

  • My skin looks & feels smoother & softer
  • Visibly see my pores diminished
  • While I have it on, I can feel my skin tightening
  • A more affordable chemical peel that I can do in the comfort of my home

My Cons

  • When my skin is really dry, it can sting
  • Does have a chemical scent to it
  • Feels sticky on the fingers making it hard to determine if you applied it evenly

Consumer Reviews

One of the many benefits of shopping Avon online is that you are able to check out what other customers have to say about a product. Here are what some customers said about Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Intensive Peel:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I usually love or hate products. This is the first that was just “eh”, so I used the entire bottle before writing this review. I give it 3 stars… it’s ok, but not a great “peel” by any means. I have sensitive skin, so I was wary at first, given the pungent “bug spray smell”… I thought strong smell = strong chemicals, but it didn’t. I didn’t get any “tingling”. I slowly increased the time until finally, I left it on for 1:45 hours during an entire movie, and still didn’t get the exfoliation I was expecting. Having said that, I do think it cleans out pores better than a cleanser, so that’s a good thing. If you’re looking for exfoliation/peel, try the Avon Clinical Advanced Resurfacing Peel Pads, which contains both glycolic and salicylic acids. There is major heat/tingling with that product, to the extent you have to fan yourself until it settles down. The next day, you can see the dry skin sloughing off. That’s a peel. Not sure how to classify this… perhaps “cleansing mask” is more accurate for managing your expectations.

I gave it a shot, and surprised at how well it works. At first, I applied it with dry skin. You could feel your face tighten in edges around the lips. Since then, I apply it after cleansing. It spreads quickly, and you still feel that tingling once your face completely dries. The suggested use is once a week. I apply it every other day. For someone with sensitive skin, I haven’t have issues. My face is so smooth and soft. If I keep feeling the changes I may need obsession Therapy. Kidding. 😉 I did take advantage of the special, and purchased more. After all, there’s always a neighbor one likes more than the others. This is perfect gift for grandmas too. 💖✨

I put this on for 10 minutes as directed and it tingled slightly. When I washed it off, my face was shiny and smooth! I’m glad I bought it, and the price is well worth it!

According to the Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Intensive Peel product page on avon.com, the average rating is 4.4 stars out of 5 stars with 88% of respondents report that they would recommend Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Intensive Peel to a friend.

My Final Thoughts

I’ve been personally using this product for over a year 1-2 times a month. When I first started using this product, I had to quickly remove it as it stung really bad. After that, I first off, learned my lesson & do not use this product when my skin is really dry. Secondly, I built up my time to wear it from under a minute up to the 10 minutes as recommended.

For me, I personally exfoliate my skin once a week with one of 3 exfoliators I am currently using. When my skin is irritated or super dry I will use the Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel. When I want to focus on my pores and/or am struggling with blackheads, typically around my period, I will use Tula So Poreless Exfoliating Blackhead Scrub. When my skin starts looking dull that is when I will use Isa Knox Anew Clinical Revitalize & Reveal Intensive Peel. Since I started doing this routine, I’ve noticed that my skin overall looks & feels healthier & younger. I’ve also noticed that my makeup applies better & lasts longer.

Each time I use this product, I can literally feel my skin get tighter. Then once I wipe it away & apply a hydrating skincare routine, my skin is glowing & feels like it just took a breath of fresh air. I’ve noticed that this lasts 3 to 4 weeks depending on the season & how my skin is through out the month. Winters my skin tends to get duller looking so I am able to notice more of a difference. I really love that I am able to give my skin spa like treatments in the comfort of my home and more importantly at a much more affordable price. I am still using the first Intensive Peel product I purchased over a year ago.

As I said earlier, when it comes to exfoliants, you definitely want to play smart in choosing the right one. I definitely would not recommend this product to those with sensitive skin. Other than that, I do recommend this if you are looking for a way to brighten & give life to your skin. And as always, make sure to follow instructions and know you may need to build yourself up to the recommended 10 minutes.
