Skincare formulated with peonies is not a new thing. Upon research for this article, I found a variety of skincare products formulated with peonies. JB Skin Guru actually has a peony skincare regimen that contains L’essence, Le Nettoyant, L’extrait and La creme. Based on how to use the product on the product page, this is a full skincare routine including cleansers, what seems to be a toner and day & night moisturizers. Another brand that has a whole collection of peony products is L’Occitane. Their peony skincare products include Perfecting Cream, Perfecting Toner and Perfecting Purifying Foam cleanser.
For a more affordable approach, L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone collection is a great option with a Moisturizer for Dull, Mature Skin, Cooling Night Moisturizer and Anti-Agining Eye Brightener. For those of you who enjoy SPF protection in the Anew day creams, L’Oreal‘s Rosy Tone collection has a day moisturizer with SPF 30.
Their are other brands that do offer skincare products that are formulated with peony as well:
- Tatcha The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream ($60)
- Pureauty Night Cream Moisturizer for Face & Neck ($26.45)
- Feeling Beautiful Glacier Water + Pink Peony Gel Cream Mask ($4.29)
- Fresh Peony Brightening Moisture Face Cream ($73)
- BareMinerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Moisturizer with SPF 30 ($38)
- A little goes a long way
- Packaging looks very sleek & luxurious
- Day Cream came with a spatula to apply product to face
- Minimizes my deep smile lines & fine lines around my eyes
- Improve my overall skin tone
- A slight floral scent with Serum and Day Cream
- The Serum & Eye Serum look identical- only difference is name shown small at the bottom of product
- The Eye Serum did not get rid of my dark under eye circles (see Final Thoughts for more info)
- Day Cream does not have SPF like other Anew day creams.
What Avon Customers Are Saying
One of the many benefits of shopping Avon online is that you are able to check out what other customers have to say about a product.
Regina from Undisclosed
“I use all the Isa Knox products and will absolutely recommend this to anyone with whatever type of skin. I have aging baggy skin and this absolutely brings everything right together.”
Stacie from Minneapolis, MN
“The[face] serum helps diminish fine lines, leaves skin looking radiant, cheeks are rosy, and it work wells with my morning and night moisturizer.”
Colleen from Clintonville, WI
The Day Cream “feels so nice and light on my face and it seems to be rejuventating as soon as it’s applied! dries fairly quick without leaving a tacky or sticky residue, and it smells really nice, just a light scent of peonies!”
If you are curious and would like to try out any of the Isa Knox skincare products, I do offer samplers which I would be happy to ship them to you for FREE. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the product(s) you are interested in trying, your name & shipping address.
My Final Thoughts:
So, first off I want to talk about the lack of variety of reviews I just provided you. If you’ve read any of my other Avon product reviews then you know that I do my best to give you the full picture on not only what my experience is with a product, but others as well by talking about my personal customer experiences, other product reviews from non Avon representatives and customer reviews (positive & negative) found on the product’s online page. The reason for the lack of variety is because these are recently launched products being available online beginning middle of August and being launched in the Avon Campaign 20 brochure starting September 2, 2020. Because of this, there are not as many comparable reviews in this product review compared to my other product reviews.
Now, due note, as an Avon representative, we have the opportunity to try out *NEW* Avon products up to a month prior to their launch through Avon’s What’s New representative demo book. This is to give us time to try out the new products & be able to learn first hand what the products are all about… which leads me to going into what my experience has been using the Isa Knox morning skincare routine.
You may be wondering why I did not use the Dual Night Cream as well. To be honest with you, Avon was offering a special offer in Avon Campaign 20 What’s New that included the Isa Knox Serum and Isa Knox Day Cream (Why I am able to offer my special offer for those who place an order by 9/14/20) On top of that, I was really curious about the Isa Knox Eye Serum (which I will discuss in a bit). On top of that, I had currently finished up my day moisturizer. So I figured between these two, I would only try the morning skincare routine.
So, upon learning all about the Isa Knox collection, I was interested in the fact that it would help minimize fine lines & wrinkles and help even out my skin tone. I have combination skin with my t-zone being oily while the rest of my face tends to be on the more dry side. Also, since I had chemotherapy treatments last year, my skin has been struggling to maintain it’s hydration, in my oily areas too. I know that lack of hydration in our skin can lead to signs of aging, such as fine lines & wrinkles and uneven skin tone which is what I’ve noticed primarily with my skin. So, lately I have been really focusing on trying to keep my skin very hydrated & looking for products that will help my skin become hydrated as well as maintain it’s hydration. Because of this, I figured I would give the *NEW* Isa Knox Serum and Day Cream a try.
Now, when it comes to the Eye Serum, I was going to try this product regardless of the other products, because to me this product spoke to me more than any of the other Isa Knox products. According to the description on the main Isa Knox page, it is suppose to “reduce fine lines around the eye area, diminish dark circles & depuff bags”. Now, if you’ve watched my YouTube skincare videos, then you know that I have had to deal with fine lines, dark under eye circles and puffy under eyes my whole life. My fine lines are from my smile and the rest is well… bad genes. So, as you can imagine, when I saw this, I was excited to try it out. A few months back I did find a product that got rid of my dark under eye circles… The Anew Vitamin C Brightening Eye Cream. However, it didn’t do much for my fine lines & wrinkles and my puffiness. So, my thinking is if I can have a product that resolves all of my issues around my eyes, then sorry Vitamin C but I’m going to go with that one. The less products I have to use, the better.
Now that you know what I am looking for and what my expectations are, let’s get into my experience. When I first opened the products, I will admit that I was very impressed with the packaging. They all looked sleek and very luxurious. They definitely looked more expensive compared to other Anew skincare product’s packaging.
When I first went to apply the products, I actually mixed up the face Serum & the Eye Serum. I noticed that they looked identical and the only way to tell them apart is by looking at the name, which was in small font on the bottom of the bottle. Because of this, I make sure after doing that, that I would display my Isa Knox products in the order of me applying them so that way I would not mix them up again. This is a “minor” issue but it still was an issue and one that I have to consciously be aware of when I use the products so I make sure not to mix them up.
When applying all the products, I noticed that they all were very lightweight. Even the cream, which was a little thicker in texture compared to the two serums. I love that it is so lightweight because afterwards I do apply my Daily Beauty Defense SPF 50 and most days, a full face of makeup. When it comes to products that I use in the morning, I want them to be lightweight and basically feel like I have nothing on my face. No one wants to have their skin feel heavy through out the day, especially during these hot summer days.
What surprised me was that I only smelled a slight floral scent with the face Serum. I did smell it with the Day Cream as well, but the Serum I smelled once I pumped it onto my hand. The Day Cream was more of when I started rubbing it into my skin. That tells me the Serum had a stronger fragrance consistency. I personally do not mind scents in my skincare, as long as it is something I don’t mind. This one, I have to say it’s not favorite, but it is a scent I can deal with as long as the products work.
After about two weeks of using the products every morning and using the two serums with my night time skincare routine, I have to be honest and say I didn’t notice much of anything. The only thing I could say is I did notice my skin was staying hydrated.
Now that I’ve reached the 4 week period, I have noticed that my oily t-zone has not become so oily through out the day. Now, I am not 100% sure if this is because of the Isa Knox products or if it’s because the weather where I live has become a lot cooler and the air has not been so dry… It’s been on the more humid side. I will admit, now looking at my before & after photos, I do notice that my laugh lines around my mouth especially have diminished and that over all skin tone has become more even.
When it comes to the Eye Serum, I am going to have to say it was a fail for me. It not only didn’t minimize my dark under eye circles, it didn’t really diminish any fine lines that I have and it definitely didn’t depuff my bags. I am very disappointed in this & have not been happy with all the concealer I have been using.
So am I going to continue on with this routine? I’m going to be straight forward with you, because of the Eye Serum not working for me, I think it made me less excited about the other two products so I will continue to see how they work. Because I’m not one who likes to waste products, I will use up the Eye Serum but I will be adding the Anew Vitamin C Brightening Eye Cream back into my routine and I will continue to look for eye creams or serums to diminish my fine lines & wrinkles and more importantly de-puff my under eye circles.
In regards to the face Serum and Day Cream, I’m not sure yet. With knowing Avon is coming out with new products and the lack of wow I got, I will most likely move on to Avon’s newer launches over the next few months, once I am done using up the products I have. As I said, this collection didn’t really “wow me” with results like Avon was making it seem they would do, especially with having this whole “Big Reveal” announcement over the summer.
