I have to say finding alternatives for Anew Power Serum was interesting. I first searched anti-aging serums but could not really find a list that truly matched Anew Power Serum. Then, I thought about how Anew Power Serum is a boosting serum that helps boost your moisturizers. I will know in just a few tries if the product is a no-go for me. Unfortunately, this one was not a great option for me. I am in my late 40’s and have sensitive, dry, skin. My skin does not respond well to any product with glucosamine, soy, algae or “saccharide ferment”. These are some main ingredients in this serum. I did break out in a few red bumps and my skin actually seemed to get drier with use. This may be for an oilier skin type not prone to allergies. I think the price is a bit high as well. I find a great cream is the Banishing Cream– it does a great job of moisturising, reducing fine lines, as well as clearing up some minor discoloration, and for a much lower price!”

My Final Thought:

The Anew Power Serum will always have a special place in my heart. Back in 2015, when I was just starting my Avon business, I received my first Anew Power Serum through an incentive. Since I received it for FREE, I figured I would give it a try. It was the newest addition to the infamous Anew skincare line. Even back then I believed that it was important for me to actually get familiar with as many Avon products as possible.

Around this time, I had just started a daily skincare routine at night. After about a month of doing my nightly skincare routine, that is when I decided to add the Anew Power Serum. After about two weeks of using it with my nighttime skincare routine, I noticed that I was able to go from two full pumps to one full pump. That’s when I started to look for any changes. After a couple months, I noticed that my skin was more hydrated, even though we were in the very dry winter months at the time.

For those of you who don’t know, I’ve always had lines & wrinkles around my eyes, especially when I smiled. As I got older, they were becoming more pronounced and showing up even when I didn’t smile. The biggest change I noticed was how fast my lines & wrinkles around my eyes. At that time I was using Anew Platinum Eye & Lip Cream, however, once I added the Anew Power Serum to my nighttime skincare routine, I noticed that the fine lines were gone and my deep wrinkles were much smaller.

Once I ran out of my first Anew Power Serum, I stopped using it up until this past year. The results were not as drastic as the first time I used it. I still need to use 2 pumps, even after using it for the past 6 months, morning & nighttime. I am also five years older and last year I underwent 6 months of chemotherapy. Between of those two things, my skin in some ways have improved (haven’t really had to deal with oily skin which has also helped minimize my breakouts) and in other ways I am dealing with issues I’ve never had to before (reallly dry skin and red, patchy areas around my cheeks).

What I’ve noticed this time around is that the Anew Power Serum has really helped with hydration of my skin. I really saw & felt the difference especially after I exfoliate. My skin totally soaks in the Anew Power Serum, especially in my dry & patchy areas. With my skin maintaining better hydration and my skin tone evening out more, especially with my dark circles. I’ve noticed that applying face makeup has become much easier and I will actually wear light coverage foundation like tinted moisturizers and BB creams this summer!

I’ve always recommended this product to my skincare customers but upon doing research for this blog, I am going to take into consideration those with oily skin. It seems that people who have oilier skin were more likely to have a negative effect with Anew Power Serum. Many have said they’ve experienced acne breakouts and their skin feeling greasy. Though I’ve never had this effect, it was enough customer reviews for me to mention it & be aware when it comes to recommended this product to future customers. For those of you who have dry skin, like myself, I do recommend Anew Power Serum to help your skin maintain it’s moisture and even out your skin tone, as well as help with those fine lines & wrinkles.
