The first mascara that I thought of compared to the CathyCat Play All Day Mascara is Avon’s Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara. This is a customer favorite that are staples in many makeup routine as it is an affordable waterproof mascara that will not smudge or flake all day however, you can easily remove with soap & water. My Final Thoughts

I will admit that this is one of those times where packaging got me. When I saw Avon what the products looked like in the What’s New, I immediately had to get at least one of the products and I have to say I am really happy I picked the Play All Day Mascara. At that time, my go to everyday mascara, Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara, was out of stock and I was looking for an alternative anyways.

When I first applied this, I immediately was reminded of the Wash-Off Waterproof Mascara. The wand was similar & how my lashes looked overall was similar. The only difference I noticed right away was that my lashes were extremely black which I actually liked because it gives a more voluminous look.

This past summer I have continually tested out this product & it has passed the wear test each time as well as last all day. I’ve worn this with no issues even playing in the pool with my kids. However, I will say, when I did go underwater, I did not some smudging on the corners when I got out. That is where it being water resistant rather than being waterproof makes it a “con” for me.

Now for me, the main issue I had with this mascara is that it really didn’t add length or much change to my lashes overall. I know for me, depending on what look I am going for, especially my eyeshadow look, that will determine what I would like my lashes to look. Sometimes I just want long, separated lashes. Sometimes I want full, voluminous lashes. For looks like that, the CathCat Play All Day Mascara is not the one I will reach for.

However, when it comes to an everyday look, this is perfect. For me, my everyday mascara needs to last all day without worrying about it moving about being a busy single working mom of 4 boys. To be honest, I was shocked in how well it lasted. I typically apply my makeup around 7am each morning & don’t take it off until 8-9pm that night. So that is a full 12+ hours without smudging, flaking or giving me those dreadful raccoon eyes. What surprised me what that it looks just like when I first apply it.

Just like with everyone else, the one thing I can’t stand with water proof or water resistant mascaras is the difficulty to remove them at the end of the day without rubbing too hard. With CathyCat Play All Day Mascara, I never had an issue with removing this, no matter how long I had it on. I will typically use Uoma Go Awf! Au Natural Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup, however, I’ve also been able to easily remove it when I went on vacation with just my facial cleanser & water.

I’ve tested out & used many mascaras, high end & drugstore, and I know how difficult it is to find a no fuss, long wearing mascara. So when I find one that I can rely on to wear in my “everyday life”, you can bet your bottom that this is going to be a staple in my makeup collection and it won’t break the bank every 3-6 months when I update my mascaras. This is a mascara I would definitely recommend to my customers who are looking for an alternative to the Wash Off Mascara because it’s out of stock again and to customers who are looking for a no fuss, basic mascara.
