Being an Avon Mom: Never Giving Up
I’ve recently celebrated another anniversary. If you read last month’s Being an Avon Mom blog, you know that in July I celebrated 1 year since my last chemotherapy treatment for Stage III Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer. For this month, the past Wednesday, August 12th, I celebrated my 5 year anniversary as an Avon Independent Sales Representative.
In honor of my anniversary, I had offered a 5 Day for 5 Year giveaway where Facebook and/or Instagram followers had the opportunity to win some of my favorite Avon products each day, from Saturday August 8th to Wednesday August 12. On top of my givewaway, I did a special video on my YouTube channel where I shared my journey of the past 5 years and how i created a successful Avon online business.
While taping my video, I surprisingly became for emotional as I shared my triumphs as well as my struggles, professionally & personally. Before then, I had not realized how much I’ve been through, yet, my Avon business survived & I am so happy that I didn’t give up in spite of the struggles & obstacles I had to overcome. I thankfully had people in my life who supported me & God definitely helped guide me through to where I am today.

Though I did not emphasize a lot about this in my YouTube video, I have to admit that this is the first time in my adult life that I am truly happy, confident, self sufficient & in complete control and love myself & my life. No, my life isn’t perfect, I’m not perfect. I am still a single mom of 4 boys and this is not easy. I do still have bills to pay and things I need to work to on to be a better person.
