My Pros:

• Feels like I have nothing on.
• Super easy to apply with my foundation brush.
• Little goes a long way.

My Cons:

“I usually don’t write reviews unless I’m really wowed by a product and let me say this: Wow! I am shocked how flawless this foundation is. It has medium to full coverage that you can build up to without looking cakey. I would say it has a satin finish that can become more matte if set with a translucent powder or sheared out with primer or a moisturizer which is wonderful. They have a great shade range that includes undertones: N-Neutral, W-Warm, C-Cool. Product comes in a nice, frosted glass bottle, with the good standard amount of 30ml/1.01 fl oz. There is a slight scent to it, a floral sweet smell, so if you are not into perfumed foundation this would be the only negative. I truly adore this product and pray they will not stop selling it!”

My Final Thought:

The first thing I want to state is that I love makeup as much as the next girl. However, I never was one who would spend a whole lot on makeup.

When Avon announced their new collaboration with The Face Shop, I was super excited to try out these new products. As an Avon representative, I am able to order new products at demo prices. So I thought this would be a great way for me to try high end beauty products at a price I can live with. (To be honest, I never could understand how beauty influencers I follow could spend that much money on makeup. I understand that was their job but spending that type of money, in my opinion, was not worth it.)

Early 2019 Avon had discontinued my two favorite liquid foundations, True Color Flawless Liquid Foundation and True Color Ideal Nude Liquid Foundation. So, I was looking forward to finding a new liquid foundation to replace them. When I saw what the price was going to be even for me, I have to admit I was a little hesitant in purchasing it. By this time I had found a foundation I liked (Magix Foundation Wand). Though it was a great product to use on a daily basis, I always loved have a liquid foundation to wear on those special occasions (date night, holidays, etc). From my experience, liquid foundations are much better with providing full coverage. I figured I’d give Avon x The Face Shop Ink Lasting Liquid Foundation Slim Fit a shot. Worse case, I would be able to do a product review and have it for back up.

I will admit, the first time I tried it, the first thought that came to my head was “Oh my god! Now I see what those beauty influencers buy makeup like this.” I could not believe how lightweight the foundation was. It literally felt like I had absolutely nothing on but yet it covered up every blemish and pimple I had on my face. I was super happy with thy way it looked and felt on my skin.

I was even happier that I got my matching shade on first try. I know how hard it is to find the perfect shade. I noticed upon research of this product review is that was one of the biggest complaints about this product- People were having a hard time picking the right shade for their skin. What customers do not realize is that this foundation is not like other Avon foundations. This foundation actually takes into consideration people’s skin’s undertone shades. Most people don’t think of that when choosing a foundation. With Avon x The Face Shop‘s foundations, you can choose foundation that not only meets your overall skin tone, but also your undertone (do you have a more pinkish tone, golden tone or do you have a mixture of these two).

Now onto the cons I’ve mentioned above. The first time I used Ink Lasting Liquid Foundation, I pumped out the amount I normally would use on my other liquid foundations. I learned really quick that was a big mistake. Due to it main ingredient being water, you actually don’t need as much as you would use with other other liquid foundations, even other Avon liquid foundations. What resulted though was the pump spray got excess all over it and I ended up getting a couple drops on my shirt. This is where my con comes in. It was not easy to clean off, even trying to clean it right away.

Another thing I noticed was when I tried cleaning my face at the end of the day was that my Makeup Remover Wipes with Mineral Complex, I noticed that it took double the amount of wipes to clean it off. What I noticed that worked was removing as much as I can with my Makeup Remover Wipes and then wash my face with my face cleanser twice. This is a little more work then I normally have to do, but for me, that is fine because my foundation lasted all day perfectly.

I would highly recommend this foundation, especially to those who need a long lasting, full coverage foundation that feels like you got nothing on. This is also a great foundation for those who are looking for quality foundation that has plant based ingredients. Yes, the cost is more then the usual amount you would spend with foundations from Avon, but I personally feel that it is totally worth the hype, as they say.
